Thoughtful Furnace and AC Repair in Coeur d'Alene

Furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps and ductless mini-splits are our daily work in Coeur d'Alene, Hayden and Post Falls. If a fix will serve you well, that is what we recommend. If new equipment is the smarter spend, we show you the reasoning, and you hold a written quote before a single part is ordered.

What to Expect When We Come Over

When a furnace stops in January or an air conditioner quits in August, the whole system is rarely done for. We track down the failed part and give you an honest choice about the next step.

Repair first, when it will last

A worn igniter, a weak capacitor or a clogged condensate line calls for a repair, not a sales pitch. If the equipment is near the end of its life, or the fix would cost a big part of a new system, we tell you directly and let you decide.

The quote comes before the work

You hold the parts, labor and total on paper before we begin. Nothing gets added partway through without your okay.

Diagnostic fee applied to the repair

Once you approve the repair, we credit the diagnostic fee toward it. Finding the problem is something you pay for one time only.

Same price day or night

There are no emergency or after-hours fees. Fixing a furnace that stops on a holiday evening costs the same as fixing one on a Tuesday afternoon, so you can call as soon as something sounds wrong instead of waiting it out in a cold house.

Respect for your home

We put on shoe covers at the door, spread drop cloths around the furnace and indoor equipment, and carry old parts out to our van. Your mechanical room should look the way you left it, only quieter.

How a Visit Runs

From your first call to the last check, you know what is happening and why.

  1. 1

Tell us what is going on

A rattling blower, a burning smell at startup, a bedroom that stays cold while the rest of the house is warm: every detail you share helps. Day or night, you reach a person who books a technician's visit.

  2. 2

    We find the cause

Our technician tests the system, checks the likely culprits and shows you what turned up, with photos when they help.

  3. 3

A written quote and a straight answer

We lay out the repair on paper. If new equipment deserves a look, we set out both paths side by side. You choose, and we do not push.

  4. 4

    The work, then cleanup

Floors stay covered, old parts leave with us, and the system runs a full heating or cooling cycle while we watch it.

What Drives the Price of Repairs and New Equipment

No two calls are quite alike, so we price from what we find in your home rather than a set menu. These are the biggest factors, and we walk through the ones that fit your situation before you see a total.

Estimates on installations and replacements are free. A repair starts with a diagnostic visit, and when you give the go-ahead, that fee comes off your repair bill.

The failed part
Sensors and capacitors are low-cost parts and short visits. Compressors, heat exchangers and control boards cost more and take longer to replace.
The age of your equipment
Older units can be harder to find parts for, and one with several tired components may bring us back more than once. At that point we tell you honestly whether fixing or replacing makes more sense.
Getting to the unit
Equipment in an open garage or basement is fast to reach. Attics, tight crawlspaces and condensers boxed in by a deck add labor time.
The system you choose
Price shifts with equipment type, size and efficiency. Heat pumps, high-efficiency furnaces and ductless mini-splits each cost something different, and matching capacity to your house matters more than picking the largest model.
Permits and rebates
New installs usually need a permit and inspection, and we handle both. On heat pumps, we assist with Avista rebates and federal tax credits that can lower what you pay.

A Local Heating and Cooling Company

We built this company around the service we would want in our own homes: a clear explanation, a written quote and a fix for what is broken, without a pitch for what is not. That is why we lean toward repair, and why we are equally direct when a system has reached the point where new equipment is the better use of your money.

North Idaho winters lean hard on furnaces and heat pumps, and summer heat has become hard to ignore. We keep our vans stocked with common parts and treat the inside of your home with the same care we give the equipment.

Questions Homeowners Ask Us

How do you decide whether to repair or replace?
We weigh the equipment's age, the part that failed, how worn the rest of the system is and what the repair costs next to new equipment. When a fix should buy you several good years, we suggest it. When a unit is old, unsafe or likely to keep failing, we explain our reasoning and quote both options together.
Will I pay more for a call at night, on a weekend or a holiday?
No. We charge no emergency or after-hours fees, so calling at 2 a.m. costs what calling at noon does. Our 24/7 emergency HVAC repair covers a furnace that quits in a cold snap or an AC that fails in a heat wave.
Do you stand behind your repairs?
All of our repairs include a one-year labor warranty. If something we fixed gives trouble within that year, we return and correct it without charging for labor. New equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty too, and we go over its terms at installation.
Is there a fee to diagnose the problem?
A repair starts with a diagnostic visit, and the fee is applied to the repair when you approve it. New installation estimates are free.
Will a heat pump keep up with our winters?
Today's cold-climate heat pumps handle North Idaho winters far better than older ones, and many homes back one up with a furnace on the coldest nights. We size the equipment to your home and assist with Avista rebates and federal tax credits on heat pumps.
What do I get with a maintenance plan?
Plans begin at $14.99 a month and cover scheduled tune-ups, discounted repairs and priority scheduling, which matters most when a cold snap fills the calendar. A yearly check of your furnace and AC tends to catch a worn part while it is still a small fix rather than a breakdown.
Will I know the cost before work begins?
Yes. Before we start, you receive a written quote with parts and labor. If another issue turns up mid-job, we stop and talk it over with you first.
